CALVERT MAN GULITY OF SHOOTING AT OFFICER
A Calvert man has been found guilty of shooting and wounding a police officer back in 2017.
A jury found 38-year old Petrick Lashane Jones guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Public Servant, a 1st-degree felony.
According to authorities, back on New Year’s Day of 2017, Jones fired over a dozen shots at Calvert Police Officer Stephen Magnes, with one of the bullets striking Magnes in the back..
Officer Magness was wearing a bullet proof vest which prevented any serious injuries.
Sentencing for Jones is taking place today at the Robertson County Courthouse in Franklin.
