WASHINGTON CO. CHAMBER OUTLINES PLANS FOLLOWING RESIGNATION OF PAGE MICHEL

  

Update @ 3:15 p.m.: Washington County Chamber of Commerce President Page Michel has informed KWHI that the Chamber will begin advertising on Monday to fill her soon-to-be-vacant position.

Original Story: The Washington County Chamber of Commerce has detailed what it plans to do after the departure of Chamber President Page Michel.

In a statement, Board Chairman Amanda Stolz says that she, along with the Board of Directors, are working together to “develop a strategic plan to search for a new president”.

The letter says that managers Jane Hinze and Shae Janner will carry on with all Chamber programs and activities, supported by staffers Dawn Konieczny, Sarah Bryant, the Blue Blazers and the Board of Directors.

The Chamber extends its best wishes to Michel, thanking her for her 18 years of service.  The letter states the Chamber currently has an all-time high retention rate and number of members, at 91-percent and 832 members.  The Chamber says these numbers are “a clear signal” that it is valued by the community.

Michel announced last week she would be leaving the Chamber in February.  She stated she would be working from a home-based office for a publishing/marketing company, to perform business development activities for chambers across the state.

Michel was the Tourism Director of the Chamber from 1996 to 2000, and became Chamber President in 2005.
