BRENHAM VFW POST TO OBSERVE SIGNING OF VIETNAM PEACE ACCORD

The anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam Peace Accord will be recognized on Wednesday in Brenham.

VFW Post No. 7104 will host a short program Wednesday afternoon in recognition of the signing of the accord, also known as the Paris Peace Accord.  The treaty was signed on January 27, 1973, to bring about peace in Vietnam and end the Vietnam War.

Washington County Veterans Association President Ben Seeker says the program will be one of remembrance and reflection.

Past post commander and Vietnam veteran Reinhardt (Sonny) Dannhaus will present the program.  The program is open to the public, and a special invitation is given to those who served in Vietnam, as well as their friends and family.  Light refreshments will be served.

Doors to the VFW post, at 1200 East Tom Green Street in Brenham, will open at 3 p.m.  The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m.  To learn more, call the post at 979-830-8776.
