MAN ARRESTED AFTER PURSUIT BY CALDWELL POLICE, CHARGED WITH FELONY EVADING
A Katy man was arrested in Caldwell earlier this week, after being accused of fleeing from police.

21-year-old Alan Villalta was arrested late Sunday on a felony evading charge after a short chase, which ended with him crashing into the back of an 18-wheeler.
Shortly after 11 p.m., Villalta was headed south on State Highway 36, when a Caldwell police officer turned on the car’s lights and sirens. Villalta then proceeded to flee at speeds near 100 mph, traveling towards the intersection of Highway 36 South and County Road 107, south of Caldwell city limits.
According to a DPS report, the pursuit ended when Villalta’s vehicle crashed into the back of a southbound semi-trailer, driven by 32-year-old Brandon Renner of College Station.
The report stated Villalta suffered non-capacitating injuries, with possible injuries to Renner. Both refused medical treatment, and neither were taken to the hospital.
Villalta remains at the Burleson County Jail.
