As Blinn’s Annual Clay Shootout draws nearer, the College has announced that four local companies have stepped forward as sponsors.

This year’s event is being underwritten by Stylecraft Builders, Inc., with a $15,000 sponsorship. In addition, Blue Bell Creameries, Brenham National Bank, and MDX Safety, Inc. are each supporting the fundraiser with $5,000 sponsorships.

Blinn Alumni and Friends Association President Dr. Deanna Alfred said the College is thrilled to have all of the support it receives for the shootout, which she says has become a signature event.

The Annual Clay Shootout raises funds for the Blinn College District, for academic scholarships and athletic equipment. This year, the shootout will be held April 5th at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range in Caldwell, at 7676 County Road 247.

Entry for a four-person team is $500, while entry for a single shooter that wants to be paired with a team is $125. The shoot will include 100 sporting clays.

Food will be provided throughout the day, along with drinks, drawings, prizes, and awards given to the top male, female, and youth.  Unlimited food and drink is available for $20, for non-shooters.

Shooters will need to bring their own shotgun and ammunition. Registration will be one hour before shoot time, with a safety meeting 30 minutes before shoot time.  Shooters under the age of 17 must have completed their hunter’s safety certification.

Event registration and sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, visit www.blinn.edu/alumni/clayshootout.html.
