FRIDAY LAST DAY FOR JOHN H. HOWARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

  

Graduating seniors for area schools have through the rest of today (Friday) to apply for the 2019 John H. Howard Memorial Scholarship.

Funds are available for students interested in attending a licensed, accredited trade or vocational school, technical school, or community college in Texas.  Seniors from Brenham, Burton, Bellville, Sealy, and Brazos High schools are eligible to apply.

The scholarship was established in Howard’s memory by family and friends, along with the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley.  Five $5,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Students looking for certification in a trade or related training will be given preference.  Students showing interest in certain trades are encouraged to apply, including those interested in information technology, auto mechanics, veterinary technology, occupational therapy, and several other vocations.

Applications are available online at http://cfbv.org/scholarships, and can also be obtained from a school counselor.  Completed applications need to be postmarked by the end of today.
