WASHINGTON CO. JAIL LIEUTENANT RECOGNIZED FOR 20 YEARS OF SERVICE

  

A Washington County Jail Division Lieutenant recently celebrated 20 years of service with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Lt. Marlow Lowery achieved 20 years on Monday.  He began in the Sheriff’s Office as a Jailer, working his way to lieutenant.

Sheriff Otto Hanak says Lt. Lowery has earned this recognition for his years of service to the county, and commends him for his “sincere dedication to the rough and tough job he performs daily”.

Lt. Lowery joined the United States Army in April of 1989 and served ten years, retiring as a sergeant.  During those ten years, he spent time at Fort Hood, in Germany, and in Iraq – participating in the Gulf War.  After his honorable discharge, he transferred to the Texas National Guard where he remained for 13 years.

Sheriff Hanak says Lt. Lowery has remained dedicated and loyal to his job in corrections, and has performed his responsibilities well.  He also says, since Lt. Lowery began his employment, he has frequently reached out to school children and participated in several community events.
