BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC HOSTING ANNUAL MEETING MAY 14TH
Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative is hosting its annual meeting and board election next week in Giddings.
The meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Silos on 77 – formerly the Sons of Hermann Hall – at 1031 County Road 223 in Giddings. Registration will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The yearly event provide a forum for members to gather and share experiences, hear state of the co-op reports, and meet and elect board members. Members will also have the opportunity to vote on co-op business, win door prizes, and celebrate Bluebonnet’s 80th anniversary.
Four of the 11 seats on Bluebonnet’s Board of Directors are up for election this year; however, only one of the seats is contested. There are four candidates for the District 3 seat, representing Bastrop County: incumbent Debbi Goertz, and nominees Juanita Valarie Neidig, Ron Spencer, and Matthew Weilert.
Three of the candidates – District 1’s Milton Shaw, representing Caldwell, Gonzales, Guadalupe and Hays counties; District 5’s Ben Flencher, representing Burleson County; and District 7’s Ken Mutscher, representing Washington County – were unopposed and are elected by general consent in accordance with Bluebonnet’s bylaws.
