BELLVILLE FFA MEMBERS BRING HOME FOUR STATE JUDGING TITLES

Members of the Bellville FFA Chapter have brought four state championships home from the state judging contest season.

The Tractor Technician Team won the first state competition at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.  The team consisted of Brendan Ciancone, John Hendrix, and Lee Michalik.

Members then traveled to Tarleton State University in Stephenville and won the Dairy Cattle Evaluation contest. These members were Lillian Hohlt, Garrett Melnar, Kaylin Krebs, and Emily Shupak.

Finally, members went to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and captured two more state titles.  The Forage Team and Nursery Landscape Team both received first place honors.  The Forage Team consisted of Daniel Kutch, Kayla Durham, Niki Carter, and Hunter Schumann.  Meanwhile, the Nursery Landscape was made up of Braden Raeke, Canute Janish, Amanda Kaase, and Lillian Hohlt.

Both the Nursery Landscape and Dairy Cattle teams will compete at the National FFA Judging Contest in Indianapolis, Indiana in October.

Other state judging teams that had success at state include the Agricultural Mechanics team, which finished third.  That team consisted of William Diezi, Brendan Ciancone, Lee Michalik, and John Hendrix.  The Agricultural Sales team also finished third, made up of David Lewis, Alexa Aschenbeck, Gabby Eskew, and Maddie Lewis.

The Range and Pasture Team placed third at State and qualified for the National Competition to be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. These members were Braden Raeke, Austin Hanath, Dalton Kasper, and Luke Novicke.

The Wildlife Evaluation team continued the success and took home third place honors at state, with the team consisting of Micheal Weyer, Justin Schroeder, Dalton Kasper, and Luke Novicke.  The Milk Quality Evaluation team finished fifth at state, made up of Canute Janish, Aunnika Wittner, Mackenzie Burke, and Tayln Dierking.

For all their success with their judging teams, Bellville FFA was awarded the Area Sweepstakes Championship Judging Banner for the 14th year.
