WOMAN KILLED IN LEE CO. CRASH TUESDAY

  

One was killed and another two injured in an early morning accident Tuesday near Dime Box.

According to DPS Sergeant Victor Taylor, the crash occurred just before 1:45 a.m. on Highway 21, about five miles southwest of Dime Box.

According to Taylor, a four-door Mazda was headed east on the highway, crossing into the westbound lanes while coming around a curve in the road.  It was then the Mazda struck an 18-wheeler coming westbound on the highway.

The passenger in the car, 25-year-old Stevie Moreno of Austin, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver, 22-year-old Tyler Mallett of Bryan, was taken to CHI St. Joseph’s in Bryan for his injuries.  The driver of the 18-wheeler sustained minor injuries, but was released.
