Unity Theatre is set to host its final Main Stage production of the season: “Brighton Beach Memoirs”.
Part one of playwright Neil Simon’s autobiographical trilogy, the story features the writer as a young teen by the name of Eugene Jerome in 1937, who lives with his family in a lower middle-class Brooklyn walk-up.
Local actress Jamie Ward, who plays Eugene’s mother, Kate, in the performance, said the story follows Eugene’s teenage years while providing a glimpse into life in America in the 1930’s.

Ward said the story carries an important message regarding the importance of family.
