A Houston man faces charged after he allegedly tried to steal thousands of dollars from a Waller Church.

Christopher Elliott allegedly went to a Bryan bank, requesting an $8,800 withdrawal from the Waller United Pentecostal Church account.

The teller noticed Elliott’s signature and the one of the name he gave the teller did not match.  The branch manager also knew the man Elliott was claiming to be.  She called the man who said he had no knowledge of what was going on.

The bank teller then asked Elliott for other forms of identification and he was able to present a license and credit card in the account holder’s name.

Police were called and Elliot was arrested and booked into the Brazos County Jail for fraud, forgery and possessing identifying information without the other person's consent.
