WASHINGTON CO. TO ‘CELEBRATE OUR SENIORS’
Local seniors will be the focus of an event set for next Saturday at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
The 16th annual Thomye Delle “Celebrate Our Seniors” program is Saturday, August 10th, at the Washington County Fairgrounds & Event Center.
The Brenham community is invited to participate in the program honoring four senior citizens for their contributions to Washington County communities. The honorees this year include Ivenus Garcia, Esther Mae Hall, Lottie V. Hall, and Robert Mae Johnson.
As part of the program, live performances of gospel music will be presented, and raffles and Bingo games will be available with cash and prizes donated by local businesses and individuals. Additionally, representatives from home healthcare and other community-based programs will be on hand to answer questions about services available.
A free BBQ meal is served to all senior citizens (65 and over), while others are asked for a $5 donation. The event gets underway at noon.
