BRENHAM BUSINESS LEADER HERMAN BORCHARDT DIES, 88
A long time Brenham business leader has died.
Herman Borchardt, the former plant manager at the Sealy Mattress plant in Brenham and a former Brenham civic leader, died at his home Sunday.
Borchardt, a Korean War veteran, who was awarded a Purple Heart, was with Sealy Mattress 39 years before his retirement in 1993.
Borchardt was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion, VFW, Sons of Hermann and Brenham Elks Lodge.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00, at Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville.
Herman Borchardt was 88.

I worked under him at Sealy Mattress in the 1980’s. He was a good man. Thank you for your service sir.
