BURLESON CO. CONVICTIONS FOR SNOW, CLARK UPHELD AFTER ALL APPEALS

(Burleson Co. Jail)
The state’s highest court for criminal cases has upheld the rulings for a pair of prominent cases in Burleson County.
The Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld the convictions of 21-year-old Gavin Snow and 47-year-old Charles Clark, both of Caldwell, and ordered the sentences be carried out.
Snow was found guilty of Capital Murder by a Burleson County jury in March of 2017. Snow was accused in the shooting death of 47-year-old Steven Bryant, who was found dead in his mobile home in March of 2015.
Due to Snow’s age at the time of the murder, he was sentenced to life in prison with the chance for parole after 40 years. Although Snow was a juvenile, he was tried as an adult to the nature of the crime.

The state court also upheld the ruling for Clark, who was convicted in April of 2018 for the Manufacture or Delivery of Methamphetamines.
As charged, the offense is a state jail felony with a punishment of six months to two years in jail. However, Clark was sentenced to 45 years in prison, with prosecutors citing his extensive criminal history. Due to his record, Clark’s punishment range was enhanced to Habitual Offender status, 25-99 years, or life, in prison.
Burleson County District Attorney Julie Renken said, as the county is transitioning into having its own office, it is “relieved to have these cases finally done and not hanging over the new administration”.
