BURTON MAN CHARGED WITH THREATENING POLICE OFFICER

A Burton man faces charges after his arrest Monday night by Brenham Police.
Just before 10:00 p.m. police were called to the 2100 block of Highway 290 West where they were told a possibly intoxicated man was asking for rides.
At the scene, 57-year old Don Wayne Basey of Burton was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.
While on route to the Washington County Jail, police say Basey made threats against Brenham officer Richelle Taylor.
He was also charged with Making a Terroristic Threat Against a Peace Officer.
