35 INDICTMENTS RETURNED BY THE WASHINGTON CO. GRAND JURY

  
Preston Walker Bailey
(Washington Co. Jail)

35 indictments were returned by the Washington County Grand Jury Tuesday. Only the names of those that have been arrested can be released.

Preston Jamal Walker Bailey, 24 of Brenham, was indicted for Assault Family Member by Impeding Breath.  Bailey was arrested by Brenham Police in June of this year when a domestic confrontation reportedly turned physical.

Jenise Djeree Benjamin
(Washington Co. Jail)

Jenise Djeree Benjamin, 19 of Cypress, was indicted for Harassment of a Public Servant and Assault of a Public Servant.  Benjamin was arrested by Brenham Police in May of this year on a misdemeanor Minor in Possession of Alcohol charge.  She reportedly became violent while being booked into the Washington County Jail, striking one corrections officer in the face, while spitting on another.

Michael William Davis, Jr., 36 of Houston, was indicted for Burglary of a Vehicle with 2 or More Previous Convictions and Burglary of Building with 2 pervious cases.

Ryan Clark Dresch, 31 of Brenham, was indicted for Assault Family Member by Impeding Breath/Circulation and Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon.

Maurice Lamon Frank, 20 of Stafford, was indicted for Deadly Conduct-Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon in a Prohibited Place.

Shalyn Grace Henroid, 20 of Brenham, was indicted for Theft of less than $2500 with 2 or More Previous Convictions.

Sergio M. Lester, 59 of Houston was indicted for Theft of Property less than $2500 with 2 or More Previous Convictions.

Xavier Devonte Nickerson, 21 of Brenham, was indicted for Burglary of Habitation and Evading Arrest/Detention with a Previous Conviction.

Christopher Allen Oriley, 34 of Dalhart, was indicted for Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Cornelius Parker, 60 of New Orleans, was indicted for Theft From an Elderly Person.

Douglas Edward Pope, 48 of Casper, Wyoming, was indicted for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Jamikal Traedaryus Rush, 19 of Houston, was indicted for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Jamichael Travon Seals, 27 of Brenham, was indicted for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger.

Four persons were indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  They are Matthew Dow Cool, 51 of Austin, Nathan Christopher Gonzalez, 20 of Humble, Joshua Robert Sumlin, 20 of Spring, and Oladapo Kemi Taylor, 45 of Cypress.

The following persons were previously indicted by the Washington County Grand Jury and have since been arrested:

Jesse Jaramillo, 25 of Brenham, was indicted for Assault of a Family Member by Impeding Breath/Circulation.

Hector Lozano, 45 of Brenham, was indicted for two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone.

Larry Jackson, Jr., 46 of Brenham, was indicted for Indecency with Child by Exposure.

  1. It appears that violent offenses committed against family members has been on the increase in our community for the last two years, as every month those indictments increase. Majority of them are males assaulting females. One can only wonder what has changed in recent times which may instigate this aggressive behavior. Don’t recall seeing video games portraying men choking the mother of their children or girlfriends. So why this sudden increase in violence against women?
