BOETTCHER FAMILY FINALIZES SALE OF LUMBER BUILDING TO TEXAS PLUMBING SUPPLY
Ownership of a historic Brenham building has changed hands.
The former site of Boettcher Lumber Company at 1608 South Market Street will soon be the home of Texas Plumbing Supply, who is moving from its former location at 2294 South Market Street. The sale to Texas Plumbing Supply officially closed on Monday.
Boettcher Lumber Company began operations at the site in 1946, shutting down in 1998. Boettcher and Associates Architects will still lease office space at the location.
Texas Plumbing Supply Brenham Manager Willie Anderson said construction work still needs to be done at the site, but he expects the company to be fully moved in to its new location no later than October 1st.
City of Brenham Economic Development Director Susan Cates said Boettcher Lumber Company was “an iconic business in the community”, operated by a family with “deep roots”. She said she is “excited to see the building go back into use”.
