Several area fire departments were called out to a grass fire Tuesday afternoon in northwest Washington County.

Firefighters responded shortly after 4:45 p.m. to a roadside start grass fire at the Shepherd Mountain Ranch off Longpoint Road.  The fire could reportedly be seen from quite some distances.

The Rocky Creek, Gay Hill, and Berlin volunteer fire departments all responded, along with units from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, CERT, and Citizens on Patrol.
