SEALY MAN INDICTED ON BURGLARY, THEFT, EVASION CHARGES

  

A Sealy man arrested on the 4th of July on several charges, including theft and burglary, was indicted last week by an Austin County Grand Jury.

29-year-old Michael John Kelley, Jr. was indicted for Burglary of a Habitation, Theft of Property between $2,500 and $30,000, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and Evading Arrest or Detention with a Previous Conviction.

Kelley was arrested by Sealy police after they found a stolen vehicle abandoned in an open field between Silliman Street and the nearby railroad tracks.  After searching the area, officers found Kelley hiding in a garage, and took him into custody following a brief foot chase.

Police found Kelley to be in possession of several items not belonging to him, including debit and credit cards.  Investigators also discovered he was responsible for multiple auto and residential burglaries.

Kelley remains in the Austin County Jail on $115,000 bond.

Also indicted last week in Austin County District Court:

47-year-old James William Hart III, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug-Free Zone, occurring August 28th.

30-year-old Emelia Angelica Barron, for Possession of a Controlled Substance, from July 1st.
