WASHINGTON CO. JUDGE CAUTIONS PUBLIC AFTER BURN BAN LIFTED
Even though the burn ban for Washington County has been lifted, residents are still urged to take precautions.
The burn ban was lifted at midnight on Wednesday, after being put into effect August 27th.
Washington County Judge John Durrenberger says that, while the ban may no longer be in effect, citizens should be very careful. He said he knows there are a lot of burn piles, but people should exercise caution when burning, especially during windy conditions.
Anyone preparing to burn is asked to notify the county before burning by calling 979-277-7373, so that fire departments are not dispatched to controlled burns. They can check the status of the burn ban, along with the county’s burning regulations, at www.co.washington.tx.us.
