2019-20 CUBETTE HOOPS HOME OPENER, TUESDAY

The Brenham Cubettes basketball team will make their home debut Tuesday night when they host the Bryan Lady Vikings.

The Cubettes (1-0) kicked off the 2019-20 season on the road, Saturday with a 69-39 win at Cedar Creek in Bastrop.

The Brenham girls are under the direction of new head coach Quinten Morgan, who succeeds Ashton Jenkins-Phillips.

The Cubettes return seven players from last year’s team (5-25/1-13), including leading scorer and All-District selection, Bryanna Williams (12.3 ppg; 4.0 rpg.); Also returning are: Amaya McGinty, Victoria Pieper, Alanna Somersall, Kaylyn Green, Ashley Ramsey and Alexus Loud.

Newcomers to the Cubettes include: 6’ 3” freshman, Kae-Lynn Canales; 5’ 8” freshman, Arianah Lewis; 5’ 11” junior, Jennifer Bejar; and 5’ 6” senior, Chelsey Lemus.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Cubettes will travel to the Copperas Cove tournament, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Cubettes will open District 19/5A play, Tuesday, December 17th at A&M Consolidated.

The Brenham Cubs boys team will open the season next Tuesday at Katy Taylor.
