The day will start with a breakfast for veterans and a guest at 7 a.m., at the VFW Post on 1200 East Tom Green Street.  Doors open at 6 a.m.

Brenham ISD will hold Veterans Day events at several of its campuses.  The first will be held at Brenham Middle School at 9 a.m., then at 10 a.m. at Brenham High School, then at 1:30 p.m. at Brenham Junior High School and Brenham and Alton Elementary Schools.

The ceremony at the American Legion Hall at Fireman’s Park will begin at 11 a.m.  The featured speaker will be Joe Ramirez, Jr., retired Brigadier General and Commandant of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.  Also expected to speak at the ceremony are State Senator Lois Kolkhorst, State Representative Ben Leman, and other local elected officials.

Following the ceremony, there will be a cakewalk and a barbecue beef and pork sausage lunch.

The cockpit of the F-111 fighter jet at Henderson Park will be open throughout the afternoon, but will be closed in the event of inclement weather.

Because Brenham High School has limited parking, a bus will be provided leaving from the American Legion Hall at 8:45 a.m., and will return at approximately 10:50 a.m. in time for the 11 a.m. program at the American Legion Hall.  KWHI will begin its live broadcast of the ceremony at 10:45 a.m.
