CREWS BEGIN MOUNTING NEW FLAGPOLE ONTO WASHINGTON CO. COURTHOUSE
Workers have begun raising a new flagpole onto the Washington County Courthouse roof.
Crews were seen this (Friday) morning starting the process of raising and mounting the 50-foot counter balanced flagpole. Washington County Facilities Manager Bobby Branham said he expects the work to be completed today.
The flag project came after completion of the roof replacement project, which started at the beginning of August. Washington County Commissioners in July approved the purchase of the flagpole and mounting base for $22,800.
County officials said at the time of purchase that the flagpole will allow for twice the amount of Christmas lights than the old radio tower previously on the courthouse roof.

The flagpole looks very nice. But if the flag is to be left up after dark should it not have lights on it. As of Friday evening it was up with no lights on it.
