WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER “MOU” BETWEEN COUNTY, VFD’S
Washington County Commissioners will meet Tuesday to discuss a memorandum of understanding between the county and its volunteer fire departments.
The “MOU” between the county and the fire departments includes the county Road and Bridge department, and outlines proper procedures to follow between them in certain situations.
Washington County Judge John Durrenberger said the agenda item stems from an incident in October, where volunteer firefighters were denied the use of a backhoe by the Road and Bridge department to clear debris at the site of a large house fire.
Following regular session, commissioners will meet in workshop to receive an update on the progress of the new Road and Bridge facility on Highway 36 North.
Commissioners will also consider:
- Authorization to issue requests for proposals (RFPs) for administrative services and requests for qualifications (RFQs) for engineering services related to the 2020 Texas County Transportation Infrastructure Fund (CTIF), administered by TxDOT.
- A Lexis Advance subscription agreement for the County Attorney’s office for 2020-2022, and giving authority to County Attorney Renee Mueller to sign the agreement as the authorized subscriber.
- Setting the dates and times for commissioners court meetings for 2020, and monthly reports being due on Monday, December 23rd.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., at the Washington County Courthouse.
