HIGHEST EARLY VOTING TOTALS YET ON TUESDAY
Extended early voting hours at the Washington County Courthouse Annex certainly aided voters Tuesday.
According to County Clerk Beth Rothermel, Tuesday drew the highest amount of voters during this early voting season yet, bringing in 435 in-person early voters. 341 Republicans and 94 Democrats cast ballots in their respective primaries.
Through Tuesday, there have been 2,197 early voters, made up of 1,796 Republicans and 401 Democrats.
Rothermel said Tuesday’s total of 435 is “considerably more” than the totals seen on the eighth day of early voting in 2014, 2016, and 2018. 2014’s eighth day drew 230 early voters, 2016 saw 301, and 2018 had 342.
Early voting continues today (Wednesday) through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no more extended hours available for early voting.
Rothermel reminds voters waiting until Election Day on March 3rd that they will need to visit their precinct polling location to vote, not the courthouse annex.
