BRENHAM POLICE ARREST TWO SUNDAY AFTER TRAFFIC STOPS

  

Brenham Police arrested two people Sunday after traffic stops.

Sunday afternoon, just before 3:00, Officer Crystal Buckner conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of West Main Street. Investigation revealed the driver, Sedrick Mitchell, 46, of Brenham to have 4 active warrants for: possession of marijuana, failure to identify, possession of a controlled substance, and a pardon and parole warrant for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.  Mitchell was also found to be in possession of cocaine and methamphetamines. Mitchell was placed in custody for the warrants and possession of controlled substance.

On Sunday evening at 8:36, Officer Lawrence Garnett initiated a traffic stop in the 2800 block of US Highway 290 West. The driver, Thomas Niekdam (28), of Austin, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Niekdam was transported to the Washington County Jail.
