BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC CLOSING MEMBER SERVICE CENTER LOBBIES; DRIVE-THROUGH LANES REMAIN OPEN

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s member service center lobbies are now closed to the public to protect the health of the co-op’s members and employees during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Bluebonnet’s drive-through lanes at its five member service centers in Brenham, Bastrop, Giddings, Lockhart, and Manor will remain open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Members can make payments after hours using drop boxes in the drive-through lanes.

Bluebonnet General Manager Matt Bentke said closing the lobbies is “the prudent and responsible thing to do to prevent or slow the spread of the Coronavirus in our communities”.  He said this decision was made in the best interests of the communities Bluebonnet serves, and to protect the health and well-being of Bluebonnet members and employees.

According to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, two counties—Hays and Travis—in Bluebonnet’s service area have confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Member service representatives will be available by phone at 800-842-7708 during business hours, or by email at memberservices@bluebonnet.coop.  Members can also pay and report power outages online at www.bluebonnet.coop, or by downloading the co-op’s mobile app.
