SECOND COVID-19 CASE CONFIRMED IN BURLESON CO.
Burleson County has confirmed its second positive case of COVID-19.
Saturday, the Burleson County Office of Emergency Management said the new case was a woman in her 20s with no travel history and no known contact with another confirmed case. The patient is self-isolating, and all of her contacts have been informed and are self-quarantining.
The county’s first case was confirmed March 28th in a man in his 50s.
Burleson County Judge Keith Schroeder said, due to a shortage of tests available, there may be other cases in the county that have not yet been confirmed.
Emergency management officials said not everyone who has the virus presents symptoms, so they may not know they have it. They also said not everyone who presents symptoms gets tested.
Officials urge the continued practice of social distancing, frequent hand washing, and staying at home if there is not an essential reason to leave.
