BURLESON CO. CONFIRMS FIRST CASE OF COVID-19

Burleson County has confirmed its first positive COVID-19 case.

Saturday, the Burleson County Office of Emergency Management announced the positive case was in a man in his 50s.  No information was released on the patient’s current condition, or if transmission occurred through travel or community spread.

County Judge Keith Schroeder thanked residents for being vigilant and adhering to recommendations previously provided by local, state, and federal agencies, and recommended they continue their efforts in order to avoid an executive order or shelter-in-place order.

Schroeder said that by every resident doing their part, a framework to fight the virus and keep people employed will be established.

County officials caution that just because this is the only confirmed case in the county at this point, it does not mean that there are no other cases in the county.
