‘OPERATION DIRTY LAUNDRY’: LEE CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS FIVE IN DRUG BUST

Five Giddings residents were arrested as part of an investigation into organized drug trafficking.

In a release on Monday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said its Criminal Investigations Division and Special Response Team, along with the Lee County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, conducted a targeted open-air narcotics operation on June 17th called “Operation Dirty Laundry”.

The operation focused on a laundromat on North Knox Street in Giddings, where the sheriff’s office said criminal offenders were meeting to conduct illegal narcotics transactions without the knowledge of the laundromat’s owners, employees or patrons.

Investigators arrested 26-year-old Lyheng Dean, 51-year-old Chris Wolridge, 42-year-old Pete Guevara, 38-year-old Courtnee Huff, and 21-year-old Quinton Bailey, all of Giddings.  They are each charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Penalty Group 1, 1-4 Grams and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

According to the sheriff’s office, the individuals involved were working in concert – not independently – to facilitate the distribution of illegal narcotics.

Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger said the arrests highlight the collaborative nature of the criminal enterprise and the sheriff’s office’s commitment to dismantling organized narcotics networks operating within Lee County.  He said, “Operation Dirty Laundry sends a clear message to those who choose to engage in criminal activity in Lee County: your actions will not be tolerated.”
