The TMIR program is designed to support Texas music venues and music festival promoters by reimbursing eligible businesses for certain state taxes paid on alcoholic beverage sales.  The funding can be reinvested into venue operations, recruiting artists and improving production to enhance the audience experience.

According to the agenda packet, Barnhill Center staff recommends the submission of a rebate application for a total of $90,315, which would cover a new LED wall and trim kit, as well as improvements to theatre acoustics.

The application period runs September 1-30, with determinations made starting in February.  Up to $100,000 can be awarded per applicant.

In other business, board members will hear an administrative report on programming, rentals, fund balance, a facility site assessment, and the recorded Texas Historical Landmark application.

The board will meet Monday at 4 p.m. in the Bullock Ballroom at The Barnhill Center.
