WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS ISSUE NOTICE OF INTENT FOR $61 MILLION IN CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION; OFFICIAL VOTE AUG. 11

Washington County Commissioners formally gave notice of intent today (Tuesday) to potentially issue up to $61 million in certificates of obligation (COs) for a pair of major projects.

The court’s vote is a procedural step as the county explores building a new judicial center and a covered rodeo arena at the Washington County Expo.

The county’s notice of intent will be published in the June 25th and July 2nd editions of the Brenham Banner-Press.

Commissioner Candice Bullock stressed that this approval is necessary to “keep the ball rolling” and is not a final decision on if the county will actually issue the COs.

Earlier this month, the court held workshops that showcased concepts for the proposed judicial center and arena facilities and how they could be financed

Commissioners will officially vote on whether to issue the COs during their meeting on August 11th
