WASHINGTON CO. CONFIRMS 20TH CASE; FOUR HOSPITALIZED, ONE RECOVERED

Washington County is now up to 20 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Washington County EMS reports the 20th case, which was confirmed this (Monday) morning, is in a woman in her 20s.  She is currently at home under self-quarantine.

This case follows the confirmation of two others Sunday in men in their 70s and 90s.  The two are among the four current cases that are hospitalized.

One of the 20 cases—the first case confirmed in Washington County—is reported to have recovered from the virus.  A recovered case is defined as someone who has been fever free for 72 hours without fever reduction medications, and it has been seven days after the onset of symptoms.

All cases are believed to have been transmitted through community spread.

The full list of confirmed cases can be found at www.washingtoncountyems.net/covid-19-confirmed-cases.

  1. I am sick to death of snarky comments and nunyabizness questions during these difficult times. If people spent HALF the time giving back as they do to being confrontational, there is no telling what they,as responsible , caring citizens could do.

  2. I assume that all the individuals testing positive had no public exposure prior to getting tested since no information is given that might allow the public to determine if they might have been exposed. Other government entities publish that information when available.

    1. If you don’t get a phone call from the Health Dept asking to get tested, then chances are you have not been exposed.

      1. I see you responding to many comments.. What type of medical background do you have? Do you work with Washing County Services to have these answers. Let us now. Thanks

        1. No, I’m not a provider, but, I have worked in Clinics and Hospitals on the Texas-Mexico border. Dengue fever, Zika, Chikungunya, Measles epidemics are not uncommon in that part of the world.

As part of one’s job, you learn (along with some self survival iinstinct) how to handle yourself and the people you come into contact with to avoid spreading illness.

Oh, yes and research, research and more research, city, county, state and federal governments have a wealth of resources at our disposal.

I hope my response answered your question satisfactorily.

  3. I am more interested in the antibody test. More of us have had it…many asymptomatic. If we have, can donate plasma to cure others.
