(Washington Co. Jail)

65-year old Ellis Fletcher Morris Jr. of Brenham, was arrested after he allegedly fired shots during a traffic altercation nearly a week ago on State Highway 105.

According to information released just this week by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded last Wednesday to the 7000 block of 105, near the intersection of Old Navasota Road.

According to the report, Morris allegedly passed several vehicles with his 2000 Lexus, cutting off a pickup towing a utility trailer.

The 38-year old man driving the truck says that led to a fender-bender, with Morris reportedly pulling over and firing a .45-caliber semi-automatic hand gun at the pickup, striking his own driver side rearview mirror, as well as the passenger window, front tire, and bumper of the pickup.

Deputies say they were able to locate four spent .45 caliber rounds.

Morris is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  He is currently free on $500,000 bond.
