WASHINGTON CO. REPORTS THIRD DEATH RELATED TO COVID-19
Washington County officials have announced a third patient has died due to complications from COVID-19.
The death was confirmed Monday afternoon in a Brenham man in his 90s. Officials did not say if the man had any previous underlying medical conditions.
County Judge John Durrenberger asked the community to keep this family, and all those fighting the COVID-19 battle, in their thoughts and prayers. He also asked for the public to continue following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help reduce the spread of the virus to others, especially those that are most vulnerable.
Two new cases were also confirmed Monday in two men in their 20s and 60s. The men, one from Brenham and one from the Washington area, are reported to be at home under self-quarantine.
This brings the total amount of confirmed cases in Washington County to 39, and the active case number to 33. Four cases remain hospitalized, and three people have recovered. All cases are believed to have been transmitted through community spread.
