TOTAL COVID-19 CASES IN WASHINGTON CO. NOW AT 49; OVER 225 TESTS PERFORMED

  

Four new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed this (Thursday) afternoon, bringing Washington County’s total case count up to 49, and its active case count up to 40.

The four patients, as reported by Washington County EMS, are all Brenham women, one in her 40s and three in their 90s.  One of the women is hospitalized, while the other three are said to be at home under self-quarantine.

Of the 40 active cases, six patients are currently hospitalized.  Six people have recovered, while three have died from complications with the virus.  All cases are believed to have been transmitted through community spread.

According to the Washington County Joint Information Center (JIC), the county has performed 229 COVID-19 tests as of Thursday afternoon.  This number only includes county residents that have been tested within the county, and does not include non-county residents.
