Faith Mission and Washington County Commissioners have partnered with the university’s Telehealth Counseling Clinic (TCC) since 2013.  The services offered by the clinic aim to provide help and support for those struggling during the pandemic from the safety of their home.

TCC Director Dr. Carly McCord said crisis can trigger anxiety, stress, and depression, but clients and counselors are able to connect with one another virtually through their Internet browser or an app, allowing for safe and confidential discussion.  She said talking with a counselor can help reduce the feeling of loneliness and provide skills to be able to cope with the stress that COVID-19 has caused.

Faith Mission Executive Director Reverend Randy Wells said this unprecedented situation has created unimaginable problems for the country, Washington County, and the City of Brenham.  He said “our hearts grieve for those who have lost loved ones, but we don’t grieve as those without hope”.

Faith Mission also continues to operate the city and county COVID-19 Call Center, which Rev. Wells said has manned hundreds of calls ranging from elderly citizens in need of groceries and medications to individuals and businesses concerned about possible exposure to the virus.  The Call Center can be reached at 1-800-845-8035.

Those who feel the need to talk to a Telehealth counselor can call to schedule an appointment at 979-436-0700.
