LEE CO. COURTHOUSE REOPENS AFTER BRIEF CLOSURE; NO COVID-19 EXPOSURE FOUND
The Lee County Courthouse is back open after temporarily being closed due to a possible incident of COVID-19 exposure.
Lee County Judge Paul Fischer released a brief statement this (Friday) morning saying the courthouse has been cleared to be reopened by Lee County’s Health Officer, Dr. Laura Birnbaum, and that courthouse employees are returning to work.
Tuesday, the courthouse was closed and its employees sent home because a person—undetermined to be a courthouse employee or visitor to the courthouse—was being tested for COVID-19. Test results for the individual in question came back negative.
