Both the man and woman in their 60’s are hospitalized.  The woman in her 30’s is quarantined at her home.

That brings the county’s total number of positive cases to 160.  The active case count stands at 105, with another recovery reported Friday.  A total of 33 patients have recovered from the virus, while nine are hospitalized and 22 have died.

At the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (BNRC), another resident has died of the coronavirus, bringing the number of total fatalities at the facility to 20.  The number of active cases at the facility is 79.  Three residents have recovered while one remains hospitalized.

  1. I thought all the mask and glove wearing, staying cooped up in a house and avoiding contact with others is suppose to stop the spread of this coronavirus ! Doesn’t look like it to me – the numbers just keep increasing! Maybe instead we should try fresh air, sunshine, get outdoors and not be afraid
to be around other people !! Practice plain old fashioned hand washing and most of all use COMMON SENSE, which seems to be lacking in this panic created by China and the liberal media !!!

    1. Common sense ain’t so common anymore. Liberties and freedoms are being taken under the guise of fear and security.

  2. With new cases coming out everyday why are they so worried about stuff reopening? Even though Brenham was never really closed down.

People should just stay home and wait for this to get better.

  3. So many of us have gone to work. Have went to work and faced covid dangers. We have went to work while supervisors have worked from home and been on covid vacations. Some supervisors even went on covid quarantine vacations after not having common sense and Fter traveling to hot covid spots. Now supervisors return to work all refreshed from their covid vacations. Those workers that have been at work are physically and mentally exhausted. Supervisors don’t care.

  4. What a sad story at the BNRC. RIP

Sure wish masks were mandatory in Washington County.

    1. But yet people are out and about like nothing. This town has been running like normal. Roads are full and stores are packed.

      1. yes and thats the reason that over the week end that there were 10 more community spread. We all need to be vigilant during this time of rebound possibly so that we don’t overload the medical facilities that we have in Washington County. It is not over quite yet and we will still have to watch out for our families and loved ones til we are past the time for rebound infection. There is no treatment effective at this time and all we can do is check for positive cases and check anti bodies for people that may have possibly already had it. Is anyone being checked for UNKNOWINGLY recovered cases…

  5. This is terrible. So many people that I interacted with day after day, who still had time on this Earth, now gone. Heartbreaking!

    1. I’m so sorry! Thank you for helping the elderly and giving back. Please be safe!
