BARNHILL CENTER CANCELS SUMMER SHOWS, SCHEDULES TENTATIVE ENTERTAINMENT FOR FALL
Officials at the Barnhill Center have cancelled this summer’s slate of shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The historic venue in downtown Brenham will remain closed through August 31st, and its two upcoming shows rescheduled for next year.
Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys starring Jason Roberts, who were scheduled for a performance tomorrow (Saturday) night, have been rescheduled to January 30, 2021. In addition, the performance of the Rumours, a Fleetwood Mac tribute show, has been moved from June 13th to June 12, 2021.
The current pandemic also led to the cancellation of the Barnhill Center’s three previously scheduled shows: the Johnny Cash Tribute Show, “Walkin’ The Line by Bennie Wells” on March 21st; the Texas A&M Singing Cadets concert on April 2nd; and “The Funniest Night of Your Life” with Todd Oliver and his Talking Dog on April 17th. Todd Oliver’s show has been rescheduled for May 14, 2021, but the other two shows have not been rescheduled at this time.
The Barnhill Center website does list a number of shows for the fall, but they are still tentative at this time. Brenham native Darden Smith is set to host three singer-songwriter shows featuring Aaron Barker, Allen Shamblin, Radney Foster, and Ray Benson. There are also scheduled performances from The Quebe Sisters, Jim Curry, and Gary Morris.
