TEXAS STATE INVESTIGATING PLAYER’S ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HOOP COACH

Texas State is launching an investigation into men’s basketball coach Danny Kaspar after former point guard Jaylen Shead tweeted a list of racially insensitive comments Kaspar allegedly directed toward players.

Shead, who redshirted at Texas State in 2017-18 and started in 2018-19 before transferring to Washington State for his final year of eligibility, posted three screenshots Thursday night detailing what he called a “shocking” experience and an abuse of power by Kaspar.

Texas State athletic director Larry Teis said in a statement, “I personally find these allegations deeply troubling,” adding that the program will fully cooperate in the investigation conducted through the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX.
