MASKS NOT MANDATORY AT LOCAL H-E-B STORE

Local H-E-B store officials say they are not requiring the mandatory wearing of masks.

Effective this coming Monday, H-E-B stores in Travis and Harris counties will be requiring shoppers to wear face masks at stores, in response to the new mask orders that came out in those counties earlier this week.

However, Brenham H-E-B Store Manager Larry Hargis told KWHI, “the local store will not be included in those orders, as they would have to be mandated by the local mayor or county judge.”

H-E-B stores in Bexar County are also under the mandatory mask order.

  1. What’s so hard about making mask mandatory… be responsible city and county officials… was in courthouse in 2 different offices … NO ONE employee wearing mask.. but yet it was mandatory for me

  2. I was in HEB earlier this week and saw 3 different employees walking around with their masks hanging below their chins! I guess since the manager doesn’t want to offend any customers by making them wear a mask he doesn’t want to offend the employees either. I am elderly with health issues and would feel more comfortable going into a store that required everyone to wear a mask, employees and customers alike! I do not leave home without my mask! It may not keep me from getting COVID-19 but it makes me feel more comfortable.

  3. As long as wearing a mask is not illegal we do not have a problem. I conclude that we are free to wear a mask or not wear one at our own discretion. If you choose not to wear a mask and I wear mine then we are okay because I am somewhat protected from your nasal & mouth droplets! Case solved. Isn’t life grand!

  5. I disagree with this choice. Wearing a mask should be mandatory to enter all businesses. People who decide to wear a mask shouldn’t feel like the odd balls. People who go unmasked should feel weird because they are putting themselves at risk. Not everyone with the Coronavirus will die, but you never know the outcome. Its better to be safe than sorry! Most of these unmasked people are trying to make a political statement because they choose to listen to someone who doesn’t care about them.

    1. As opposed to the”left” that does? Masks don’t protect you against COVID, you’re beloved Dr.Fauci said that from the beginning and only changed his stance when it fit the narrative……

  8. If you truly support your local healthcare workers, put on a mask! A ventilator is far more inconvenient and expensive than putting on a $1 mask. Out of respect for the HEB employees, wear one anyway. They are working hard to bring you essential items.

  9. Can’t make anyone do the right thing. God forbid we inconvenience ppl to save our elders lives. H‑E‑B could stand up and be a leader for the community. Glad to see the employees finally wearing masks inside at least.

  10. All it takes is one person from Brazos county to stop in our HEB and shop and infect alot of non mask wearers. But we dont want to inconvenience you.

    1. Yes keep the mask on & Curbside can be affected as well. We have too many traveling people that shop…so. Keep it on. We need to get back to some normalcy & not start over like the last 7 weeks. I don’t want to be jeopardized by some careless traveler that’ll never set foot here again. Make the mask MANDATORY. All other HEB towns doing it & being smart pays off.
