BLINN OFFERS SATURDAY STUDENT SERVICES VIRTUALLY AND ON CAMPUS

Blinn College is set to offer face-to-face and remote student services in Brenham and Bryan the next two Saturdays (Aug. 15, 22).

Blinn will offer academic advising, business services, disability services, financial aid, and housing services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and limited computers will be available for registration.

Staff also will offer full services, including registration, over the phone at 979-830-4000. Facemasks will be required on site and the number of individuals admitted into each building will be limited based upon social distancing guidelines.

“We encourage students to utilize the phone service on both dates, as enrollment services specialists will be available to walk them through the process,” said Christy Johanson, Dean of Enrollment Services and Registrar. “Due to social distancing requirements at these locations, we also anticipate shorter wait times on the phone.”

Blinn’s Fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 24, and registration is available through Sunday, Aug. 23.

To receive services in person, students can visit the Central Administrative Services Building, located at 3125 S. Texas Avenue, Suite 1900, at the Tejas Center in Bryan or the Blinn-Brenham Campus Administration Building, located at 802 Green Street in Brenham.

Students will check in at the doors and be asked to provide a phone number where they will be called or texted when it is their turn to enter the building. One parent or guardian may accompany students and visitors must wear facemasks covering their nose and mouth to enter the facility. Blinn staff accept only checks and credit cards on site.

Student IDs can be picked up on campus beginning Monday, Aug. 17. Students who reside on campus will receive their student ID as part of the move-in process.

Prospective students also can email blinnbound@blinn.edu with their name, Blinn ID number, and cell phone number to receive personalized registration assistance.

To prepare for a Fall semester in which courses will be available online and on campus, Blinn has developed the Back With Blinn plan outlining the steps Blinn is taking to keep its campuses safe and to continue to provide a quality class experience. Full details are available at www.blinn.edu/back-with-blinn. Students must pay or establish a payment plan the same day they register to maintain their chosen course schedule.

Prospective students can apply to Blinn via the ApplyTexas.org application. Once admitted, they can register for classes at https://my.blinn.edu. Blinn recommends that all students speak to an academic advisor prior to registering for classes.
