CENSUS DEADLINE MOVED UP TO OCTOBER 15TH
The deadline has changed once again for the 2020 Census, which will now close today (Thursday).
The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled in favor of suspending a lower court order extending the count through the end of the month.
According to a press release Tuesday from the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 99.9 percent of housing units have been accounted for in the count. This includes 33.1 percent counted by census takers, and 66.8 percent of housing units self-responding.
Internet self-response will be available across the nation through tomorrow (Friday) at 4:59 a.m. Central time.
Phone response is available today during regularly scheduled times listed at https://2020census.gov/. Paper responses must be postmarked by today. Census takers will continue to visit uncounted addresses through the end of today.
Data collected from the census dictates how billions of dollars in federal funding are distributed to states and local communities for the next ten years.
