Editor's Note: Brenham ISD has informed KWHI it is making changes to the homecoming festivities/schedule below. Click here to view the list of changes.
Brenham High School will be celebrating “Cubchella” as the theme of the 2020 Homecoming exercises.
Student Council, teachers, and the Brenham High School Cubs have been searching for creative, safe ways to celebrate Homecoming 2020. Despite the annual dance and homecoming parade cancellations, preparations and planning have begun for high school students.
The student body’s Homecoming 2020 theme will follow a Brenham Cub spin to “Coachella,” celebrating Cubchella for spirit week. The weekly theme begins next Monday (November 9).
Some of the events include:
- Music Monday: Wear your favorite band themed shirt.
- Rest up Tuesday: Wear school appropriate pajamas.
- Cubchella Wednesday: Wear sequins, tie-dye, or dress as if you were going to a music festival. (Please ensure that your outfit is school appropriate)
- Glow on Thursday: Wear neon or black lite attire.
- Tribe Vibe Friday: Wear your class colors: Seniors wear green; Juniors wear yellow; Sophomores wear blue; Freshmen wear red. Other campuses are encouraged to wear green.
As of now, Wednesday (November 11), Brenham High School will be hosting a community-wide pep rally at Cub stadium at 5:30 p.m.
That night, the Homecoming Court will be introduced. The fun-filled afternoon offers a safe way for students to come together as a community and celebrate in a new way. Students can purchase $2.00 Homecoming tickets for the event during all four lunches. Members of the community may purchase tickets at the Cub stadium gate.
The Homecoming King and Queen will be announced on Friday, during halftime of the Cubs vs. Elgin game at 7:00 p.m. at Cub stadium. Tickets for the game can be purchased on the athletic page of the Brenham ISD website.
