BRENHAM ISD TO BOOST SUBSTITUTE TEACHER PAY
Brenham ISD has announced it will temporarily offer a pay increase to all substitute teacher positions.
The temporary pay raise for all substitutes will be applied to actual days worked effective from Wednesday, December 3rd through Friday, January 29, 2021.
Through January 29th, substitute teachers with GEDs or high school diplomas will receive $100 per day, compared to the normal rate of $70 per day.
Substitute teachers with four-year degrees will receive $125 per day, compared to their normal daily rate of $80.
Certified substitute teachers and school nurses will receive $150 per day, up from their regular payment of $90 per day.
After January 29th, pay for substitutes will return to the previous daily rates.
Brenham ISD says it is focused on finding more substitute teachers during COVID-19 because fewer substitutes are available to accept jobs in the classroom. Pay rates vary based on education and certifications.
Anyone interested in becoming a substitute teacher can visit www.brenhamisd.net to see all job openings. Applicants will have to consent to a background check.
