CHRISTMAS STROLL ACTIVITIES BEGIN FRIDAY IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM

A full weekend of holiday activities for the City of Brenham’s Christmas Stroll begins today (Friday) in downtown.

The Christmas Stroll will not include the lighted parade through downtown, but Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke says there will still be plenty to do to celebrate the coming of Christmas.

Events kick off this morning with the Jingle Bell Market at the Ant Street Inn from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Over 15 vendors will offer clothing, baked goods, home décor, and other gift items.

Shoppers can also head down to Baylor Street for the First Friday Farmer and Artisan Market from 3 to 7 p.m. for a variety of homemade and handmade products.

At 5:30 p.m., local girl scouts will sing Christmas carols and light the trees at the courthouse.  KWHI will broadcast the tree lighting live, sponsored by Appel Ford.

Events continue tomorrow (Saturday) with Breakfast with Santa at Must Be Heaven at 8 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.  Reservations are still open for the 8 a.m. time slot, and can be made here.

There will also be a drive-thru toy drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fireman’s Training Center.  Local law enforcement officials and emergency responders will take part in a friendly competition to collect the most new and unwrapped toys for local youth.  All donations will stay in Washington County.

Holiday shopping continues with a second day of the Jingle Bell Market at the Ant Street Inn from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, 29 downtown businesses will take part in “A Taste of Christmas,” a shop and sample event presented by Main Street Brenham.  From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., shoppers can sample holiday drinks, snacks and desserts at participating businesses, like rum punch and cookies at Woman’s Cave, cinnamon red hot cider with sweets at Branded Boutique, and holiday sangria at Tres Chic Boutique.
