LIGHTNING CAUSES HOUSE FIRE IN OAK HILLS SUBDIVISION IN BRENHAM

  

 

Lightning is believed to the be the cause of a house fire in the Oak Hill subdivision, just north of Brenham.

Just before 3:15, Wednesday afternoon, firefighters from Brenham and Gay Hill Fire Departments were called to 3835 North Briarwood Drive.

Upon arrival, they found fire and smoke coming from the roof of the home.

With assistance from Berlin and Rocky Creek departments, they were able to extinguish the fire and the smoke was removed.

Officials report fire damage to the roof, attic and a second story bedroom.  There was also smoke damage throughout the house.

Firefighters were at the scene for approximately two hours.  There were no injuries.
