DSHS DEALS WITH COVID-19 DATABASE PROBLEMS

Late Thursday afternoon, Region 7 of the Department of State Health Services notified Washington County officials that they had been having challenges with their COVID-19 internal database.

The problem involved the database being backlogged due to the number of new cases coming in and the amount of time that it takes to verify, remove duplicates, and enter the information.

The department reports they have finally solved this issue. As a result, Washington County, as well as other counties in the region, will see a one-time significant increase in the total number of COVID-19 cases that are on the DSHS Dashboard.

The majority of these cases are not currently active so the county’s active case count should not increase as substantially, as the total case count will.

The increase is likely to be visible on the DSHS Dashboard on Monday, February 1, 2021.
